Islamabad: Finance Minister Asad Umar informed on Thursday that government aims to make Pakistan a regional hub of the manufacturing of auto parts and automobiles.
Asad Umer said in a tweet that JW Forland is interest in investing in Pakistan and therefore, they are launching Forland automobile assembly plant project of the worth $150 million and the event will be held tomorrow.
He tweets: “Launch event of the $150 million JW forland auto project tomorrow. Auto sector getting significant new investment. Ultimate goal is to make Pakistan a regional hub for manufacturing auto parts and ultimately automobiles. We must reverse the de- industrialization of Pakistan…”
During the same week Suzuki Motors also showed their interest in investing around $450 million to expand their car production in Pakistan.
Asad Umer said that car production, auto mobile industry will boost the economy and bring employment for skilled and unskilled labour both.. He said that as a important county of the region we must stabilize our economy and be able to emerge as leading manufacturer of auto-mobiles in the region.
