Islamabad: The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) was informed that seven project of 3340 Megawatt have been finished under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.
The secretary Power Division briefed the committee that was presided by Opposition Leader Shahbaz Sharif in Islamabad on Tuesday.
The secretary further told that 13 projects are in execution phase that are expected to generate 7240 megawatt.
The circular debt of the power sector has crossed 755 billion rupees told the secretary.
During the meeting, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Pakistan Peoples Party members of the committee lashed establishment of a coal power plant in Sahiwal, which is an agricultural land.
