Sydney puts up its biggest-ever fireworks display in an astonishing welcome to the New Year, kicking off a wave of celebrations for billions around the world.
A record amount of fireworks lit up the whole of the Sydney for around 12 minutes and dazzled more than 1.5 million spectators who were jam packed at harbour and front parks.
An earlier thunderstorm did not lessen the spirits of spectators who camped out at vantage points, some since the start of the day.
The year 2019 was marked as the year of indigenous languages and harbour also organized a ceremony in connection with the Aboriginal heritage that included animations projected onto the bridge’s pylons.
This party atmosphere will be spread across the whole globe and festivity will be observed in Major countries of Asia, Europe, Africa and the Americas as the clock ticks past midnight.
