Microsoft co-founder and philanthropist Bill Gates during a telephonic conversation on Wednesday, congratulated Prime Minister Imran Khan on assuming office and appreciated his efforts to remove polio from the country.
The call between the Premier Khan and Philanthropist and also the co-chairman of the Bill & Malinda Gates Foundation lasted for half an hour. He assured prime Minister of his help whenever needed.
Babar Ali Khan, the focal person to Prime Minister on Polio eradication told the two shared ideas regarding IT industry boost in Pakistan. Prime Minister also applauded Gate’s social work to minimize polio and his mission to uplift people from poverty.
Bill Gates has earlier expressed the efforts of PTI chairman Imran Khan for the elimination of Polio virus in the country.
Earlier in the beginning of this year when trump declined to give Pakistan security assistance, Bill and Melinda Gates foundation decided they will help Pakistan financially.
Gate wrote a letter to National Health Services (NHS) official Saira Afzal Tarar and appreciated the efforts to bring down the decrease in polio cases in Pakistan.
Statistically, the number of polio cases have been reduced over time. “In 2014, we had 306 cases which came down to 54 in 2015, 20 in 2016 and eight in 2017. But we are aiming to set pioneer standards that go with World health organization to protect our people from these kind of diseases.
