Heavy fog engulfed the parts of Punjab and most of the districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa this Tuesday morning. Due to the fog, Visibility has been reduced to hardly few meters and the roads have in the cities, including motorway.
M1 Motorway, which connects Rawalpindi-Islamabad to Peshawar, has been closed temporarily due to very poor visibility.
In the southern Punjab fog has intensified more than ever. In Bahawalpur, the visibility is less than 50 feet. People are strictly advised to not leave their houses if not needed and wear warm clothes. Divers have been told to use fog lights while driving.
Fog is expected to continue for another week and northern areas continue to freeze. Temperature is going as low as -12°C in Skardu, while -6°C in Quetta. Cold winds are breezing in Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi. Winters are expected to be chilly till January.
