Female police officers to be appointed at 13 checkpoints in Lahore

Female Police officers deployed at various Checkpoints in the entry and in the city area of Lahore for the first time.

Approximately 88 females have been deployed in the various check points of Lahore. So far 13 check-points have seen the appointment of women police officers. This step is taken for the first time in Pakistan.

Their Shift time is eight-hours long and they will perform duty 24/7.

This step was largely taken to minimize the crimes that involved female suspects.

“We have been deployed at the checkpoints to control the illegal exchange of weapons and drugs and to make this country peaceful,” one officer commented while talking to media.

Police officials said that during the first phase of campaign, limited female officers are deployed but more officers will be put to duty in future.
