Washington: Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has blatantly said that India’s hostile behaviour is causing unrest in South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) countries.
During his latest visit to the United States of America, while addressing to United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) he openly remarked about India Pakistan relation. FM further stated that for the mutual benefits of two countries and overall progress of the region we have to overlook our past behaviour and should move on.
He said India’s stubborn and hostile attitude is halting progress in SAARC region disrespecting forum’s moto. The SAARC regions could not score significant progress until India switches to friendly terms with Pakistan.
Prime Minister Imran Khan had earlier tried to bridge the gap between two countries assuming that the cold behaviour will subside. His Indian counterpart Narendra Modi initially agree that our office will hold a meeting with Pakistan foreign minister in New York. A day later, India refused to meet accusing Pakistan of having “bad intentions” for the dialogue.
