‘Indian content to be banned on TV’, says Chief Justice

Chief Justice Mian Muhammad Saqib Nisar while hearing the case relating to airing the foreign content on our channels announced the verdict. He showed resentment as Supreme Court’s Karachi Registry questioning, “someone is trying to create hindrance in constructing dams into Pakistan, choking our water, and we cannot off-air their content?”

“Shut Indian content immediately, only content meeting criteria, should be aired”, said Chief Justice Pakistan.

CJP also expressed his dislike on October 25 over the performance of Federal Board Revenue (FBR), Pakistan Electronic  Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) and customs for not able to control excessive illegal channels.

“Dish” has immensely caused loss to Pakistan. The revenue is being shifted to Indians, remarked CJP.” We are not here to listen your detailed story, avoid “ifs and buts”, be straight and concrete in your reply, CJP said to DG PTA, who appeared before the court.

Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) initiated crackdown against illegal DTH across the country in August 2016.

Chief Justice was angry over the Indian” behaviour of constructing dam over Chenab river. And they were also not letting Pakistani delegate visit so they can check if India is complaining Indus water treaty rules.
