Pakistan Army spokesperson Major General Asif Ghafoor warned the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement to not cross the line and compel them to use force.
ISPR DG Major General Asif Ghafoor on Thursday said that we will not use force on them they are already torn apart. “We are not using force against them because they are hurt. They have lost their loved ones in the war against terrorism.”
PTM demanded three things – number of check posts to be reduced, missing person and mines should be cleared. They put these demand while talking to media.
Pakistan Army has reduced number of check posts, he explained. In 2016 there were 469 in KP and FATA and now they are reduced to 331.
Major Asif Ghafoor said that 44% of the area is already cleared of mines and more is going on. Army has lost many troops during unprecedented bomb blasts.
PTM previously in 2010 and 2011 gave a list of missing person that comprised of 7,000 to 9,000 men. A committee was formed that investigated the cases and 4,000 cases have already been resolved, he mentioned.
Right now 3,000 cases are being processed, the commission is probing 2,000 cases. “How can we tell that the missing people were not a part of the TTP?” he asked.
