Leaked calls and controversial remarks dominate Punjab Assembly

Lahore: PML-N lawmakers reprimanded on Punjab Minister for Information Fayyazul Hassan Chohan for his remarks to a journalist against the press. However, both the treasury and the opposition wanted to fine an FIR against Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Hospital Medical Superintendent (MS) Dr Tariq Mehmood Khan Niazi.

Yesterday, during assembly session both sides said he charged under cybercrime laws for leaking the audio on phone call in which provincial lawmaker Raja Basharrat was speaking. Provincial health minister Yasmin Rashid tried to defend Dr Niazi, her party’s leaders said the MS committed a cyber crime. Panel CHairman Mian Shafi muhamamd was among the one is panel and was presiding over the session.
Punjab Assembly press gallery and opposition walked out of the house saying that remarks of  Fayyazul Hassan Chohan were insulting and offensive.  The minister was replying to a question asked by a journalist at an event to pay tribute to late Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Qazi Hussain Ahmed.
While defending himself he said that it was not a suitable time to put a question like this, he further told that he was very much occupied at that time since he just came to know that his wife has fallen unconscious. He apologised for his rude behaviour and harsh comment.
However, he lashed out opposition that did not stop grilling him on his remarks, he went o saying that PML-N leader such as Rana Sana Ullah is known for his foul language.
