Islamabad: Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Justice Retd. Javed Iqbal on Tuesday agreed to meet political leaders of the country.
NAB’s spokesperson informed that NAB chairman Javed Iqbal had made decision to meet the political personalities of the country, after he received a letter from opposition leader.
“Chairman NAB respects members of the parliament, the meeting is expected to take place after his Lahore visit,”, the spokesperson stated.
It is pertinent to note that Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Akhtar Mengal, Naveed Qamar, Ahsan Iqbal and Asad Mehmood have previously requested Chairman NAB for a meeting through a letter.
Many political leaders including, Deposed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Opposition leader Shehbaz Sharif, Former Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Former railway Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique, and others influential figure are facing serious corruption charges.
On December 6 Justice Javed Iqbal said that NAB must not be blamed of favouritism, the bureau is working out on accountability of culprits, honestly.
He talked about the criticism and said that NAB is an independent body and no political party has special place that their corruption cannot be accounted.
