Lahore: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore has prepared a reference against the Opposition leader Shahbaz Sharif and former principal secretary to ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif Fawad Hasan Fawad Regardimng Ashiana-I- Iqbal housing scandal that cost Rs 14 billion.
The reference has been sent to the chairman NAB retired Justice Javed Iqbal to approve.
“The main charge against Shahbaz Sharif is misuse of authority, while Mr Fawad is accused of making assets worth Rs740 million illegally, besides misuse of authority,” officials told on Monday.
He told that relatives of Fawad Hassan has tried to make contact with NAB for his release.“Mr Fawad will have to deposit his liability (Rs740m) to the national exchequer as he made the amount illegally,” says NAB.
With connection to the cases on the opposition leader Shehbaz Sharif Bureau is busy in making investigations.
In the Ashiana housing scandal, Shahbaz is blamed to misuse his authority and accused of allegedly rewarding the project to lesser known and incompetent company that later found out to be his accomplice’s company.
“Shahbaz is also blamed of directing the PLDC to award consultancy services of the project to M/s Engineering Consultancy Services Punjab for Rs192m, whereas the actual cost was Rs35m as quoted by Nespak.”
