Supreme Court has taken notice on Wednesday related to the illegal shops build on the Pakpattan shrine’s land. Nawaz is urged to submit his written reply within the time of two weeks.
3- Judge bench headed by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar requested reply from Nawaz Sharif in this case during his was chief minister in Punjab in 1985.
The bench investigated then Chief Minister that how he had the authority to turn the shrine land into Dewan Ghulam Qutb. The CM was also subjudiced before apex court.
The bench also interrogate the authority of CM by asking Nawaz Sharif that how could a CM change the verdict of high court by its orders.
Chief Justice lashed Deposed Prime minster and Former CM with many questions. To which he had no absolute answers. CJ Saqib Nisar asked who gave permission to construct stores in that property. And if he gave the permission then by which law did he allow?
His lawyer and counsellor requested court to give him time to submit replies of the case as he was busy in other cases too.
While he was granted a time of two weeks to submit reply, Additional Advocate General Punjab also revealed that 8,000 kanals of land of Pakpattan shrine was sold in 1985.
Chief Justice remarked that “Supreme Court is the protector of the Constitution of Pakistan”.
