Islamabad: Former premier Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and Senator Babar Awan are charged with a crime on October 24 in connection to the Nandipur project.
National Accountability Bureau (NAB) filed a reference against Senator Babar Awan and Raja Pervaiz Ashraf. The accountability court of Islamabad announced that the date of the hearing is October 24 after knowing the delay in the case.
Nandipur project incurred a heavy loss of 27 billion to the economy and among the seven accused two are the politicians Babar Awan and Raja Pervaiz Ashraf.
During the last hearing, Raja Pervaiz was given exception of not appearing in the court after he submitted 0.2 Million of Surety bonds.
Details say that 35 people will testify against PTI’s leader Babar Awan that includes two former federal ministers, Naveed Qamar and Khawaja Asif, in the Nandipur Power project reference.
It is important to know that Senator Babar Awan resigned on September 4 after he was accused to be involved in the power project. The PTI leader posted his snap of resignation saying that he is resigning in accordance to what Mr Khan had said and will prove that these allegations are baseless.
