Lahore: Educational activities have been resumed in the schools of the Sindh from today (Tuesday), however, the Department for Schools Education of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) have extended winter vacations.
Notifications say that schools across Punjab would reopen on January 7 instead of January 1 due to severe winter conditions. On the other side, KP Chief Minister Mehmood Khan also announced that winter vacations will be extended in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa until January 7.
The vacations were extended seeing the prevailing cold and dry weather conditions in both the provinces. The weather condition is likely to more severe and temperature is expected to drop more in coming week.
Due to severe cold the winter vacations (in summer zone) has been extended till next Sunday and all government schools (in summer zone) shall re-open on next Monday 7 January 2019

Earlier, the schools were scheduled to re-open on 1, January 2019.
Nearly all academic institutes were closed down due to winter vacations from December 22 according to government’s notifications.
