South Korea offers help in upgrading railway lines

Islamabad: South Korean ambassador to Pakistan Kwak Sung Kyu met Federal Prime Minister for Pakistan Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad on Monday.

The Korean ambassador met Sheikh rasheed, federal railway minister and discussed about the performance and its conditions. He also showed interest in helping Pakistan improve its railway system.

He further offered that Korea can assist Pakistan in upgrading the railway tracks.

A high-level delegation of South Korea will reach Pakistan and visit various departments of Pakistan Railways on December 3.

He said, “Pakistan Railways is open to all merit-based international investments”. Up-gradation of ML-I, II and III are his priority.

The meeting was also attended by secretary Railway Board Farrukh Taimur Ghilzai, DG Planning Mohammad Yusuf and DG Technical Munawar Shah.
