Prime Minister Imran during an interview to The Washington Post fairly commented “I would never want to have a relationship where Pakistan is treated like a hired gun — given money to fight someone else’s war.”
Prime Minister Imran Khan shared his government’s vision with the US and said that we want a relationship on equal terms. We cannot be used by US anymore. He stressed that bilateral relations between the two countries can only be strengthened if they are made on unbiased terms.
While talking about the relationship with China he commented that our relationship with China is not one-directional, it’s a trade between the two countries and we want similar relationship with US.
On response to the question regarding the recent twitter war he replied, that it was a reply to set the record right between the two countries. The flawed US policies and their mind set for Pakistan needs to get straight. Pakistan cannot tolerate their sacrifices not being acknowledged.
While answering accusations about hiding the Taliban leader in Pakistan he took a clear stance and stated: “I never understood these blames against Pakistan. We had nothing to do with 9/11. Al-Qaeda was in Afghanistan and no Pakistani was involved. And yet Pakistan had to take part in the US war on terror.”
The prime minister also talked about President Trump’s letter where he sought from Pakistan for assistance in bringing the Taliban to the negotiating table.
