3 Major Generals were dismissed from service on disciplinary proceedings

RAWALPINDI: Three Major Generals of Pakistan Army were dismissed from service on Army disciplinary proceedings while two officers were also sentenced to two-year imprisonment.

According to a statement issued by Inter Services Public Relations, three Major Generals of Army were dismissed from service on Army disciplinary proceedings while two officers were also sentenced to two-year imprisonment. Officers were found to abuse powers and illegal activities.

Remember that in May this year Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa confirmed the convictions of two military officers and a civil officer. Lieutenant General (R) Javed Iqbal’s 14 years imprisonment, while Brigadier (R) Raja Rizwan and civil officer Dr. Wasim Akram was sentenced to death.

The DG ISPR said that these sentences are the showcase of the Armed Forces’ strict accountability system. All three officers were sentenced for revealing sensitive secrets and for espionage charges. The officers were tried under the Army Act. It is mandatory to mention here that over the past two years, 400 officers have been sentenced, including dismissals.
