318 Member of Assembly and Senators membership suspended

The Election Commission of Pakistan suspended the membership of 318 members of the National and Provincial Assembly and Senate.

Membership of the Assembly and Senators, who did not submit details of their assets to the Election Commission, have been suspended.

70-members of National Assembly and 12 senators were suspended for not submitting asset details.

The Election Commission also suspended the membership of 115-members of Punjab Assembly, 60-members of KP Assembly, 40-members of Sindh Assembly and 21-members of Balochistan Assembly.

The members whose membership has been suspended include Federal Lawyer Barrister Farogh Naseem, Senator Hasil Bizenjo, Senator Musadik Malik and Pir Sabir Shah.

In addition, Federal Minister Tariq Bashir Cheema, Minister of State Zartaj Gul Wazir, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Pir Noorul Haq Qadri, Federal Minister for Information Technology Fawad Chaudhry were among those members whose membership was suspended.

The Election Commission also suspended the membership of Raja Pervez Ashraf, Amir Kiani and Khawaja Shiraz.

Hamid Yar Hiraj, Bilal Yasin, Bilal Farooq Tarar and Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan also did not submit details of their assets from the Punjab Assembly.

Members of Punjab Assembly Owais Laghari and Dost Muhammad Mazari were also suspended.

The Election Commission also suspended the membership of Sardar Yar Mohammad Rand and Sanaullah Baloch from the Balochistan Assembly.
