LAHORE: The 71st death anniversary of Baba-i-Qaum Muhammad Ali Jinnah is being observed today in Pakistan. Altruistic, enthusiastic, fascinating, capable, truthful, and proficient; these are just some of the words that have been used to portray the character of the founder of Pakistan Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
Educational, social and political organizations held different programs to enlighten the character and struggles of Quaid-i-Azam in getting a separate homeland for the Muslims of Sub-continent.
Muhammad Ali Jinnah was born on 25th December 1876 in Karachi. After his basic education, he went abroad for higher studies. He was trained as a barrister in Lincoln’s inn in London. On his return to subcontinent (Indo-Pak), he joined the Indian National Congress. The motive behind joining was to get a separate homeland for the Muslims of sub-continent. Later he joined All India Muslim League in 1913 and became president in 1934. It was due to his enthusiastic personality that Pakistan came into being on 14th August 1947.
In this connection, people from different walks of life will visit the mausoleum of a great leader. A special ceremony of Quran khawani is also going to be held at the mausoleum of Baba-i-Qaum Muhammad Ali Jinnah in Karachi.
