8 Saudi citizens sentenced to death for spying for Iran

Riyadh: A Saudi court has sentenced one civilian to death and seven to prison for spying for Iran.

Saudi Arabia’s Criminal Court sentenced eight citizens in treason case and spying for Iran, according to the Arab News Agency.

Arab media reported that 1 Saudi national was sentenced to death for allegedly spying for Iran and treason, while the other 7 were accused of being affiliated with the Iranian embassy and cooperating with those working in it.

Saudi media has not released details regarding the identity of the culprits, according to Arab media.

According to Saudi news agency Al Arabiya, the executioner leaked confidential information to Iranian intelligence officials, including information on Saudi national security and intelligence on two foreign embassies.
