Iraqi militia Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq also threatened to target US after Iran’s attacks on US military bases in Iraq.
On January 3, 2020, a US drone strike outside the airport in the Iraqi capital Baghdad killed Major General Qasem Soleimani, the head of the sub-force of the revolution, while Iraqi militia commander Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis and 9 other were killed in the attack.
Iran threatened revenge after the death of General Qasem Soleimani, which he completed today by attacking 2 US military bases in Iraq. Iran claims that about 80 people were killed in the attacks.
Following the reaction from Iran, Iraqi militia groups have announced revenge for the death of Iraqi militia commander Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, who was killed in the attack along with General Qasem Soleimani.
Qais Khaz Ali, the head of the modern rights group, which joins the militia force said that now its Iraq turns to hit the US.
He further said that Iraq is a brave nation and promises that the response to the attack will in no way be less than Iran’s.
It is to be remembered that after the assassinations of General Qasem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the Iraqi parliament had approved a bill to the withdrawal of foreign troops.
