Prime Minister Imran Khan will appear in the National Assembly tomorrow and the bill to amend the Army Act will be presented to the National Assembly.
PTI leader Malik Amir Dogar said that they are preparing to approve the bill of extension of Army Chief from both houses tomorrow.
He claimed that before the Friday prayer, the Army Act would be presented and approved in the National Assembly. The Army Act would be presented and approved in the Senate after Friday prayer.
The government is positive to be able to pass the bill easily from the National Assembly as the largest opposition party, Pakistan Muslim League-N, decides the unconditional support to amend the Army Act.
According to sources, the PML-N leadership is concerned that they do not want to make the Army Act controversial, so they will support unconditionally.
It is to be noted that amendments to the Army Act were approved at the emergency meeting of the Federal Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan yesterday.
Under the amendment bill, the appointment, reappointment or extension of the Army Chief will not be challenged in court nor will the retirement age applicable to the Army Chief.
