Taiwan: The crash landing of a Black Hawk helicopter in Taiwan killed 8 people, including the Chief of General Staff in Taiwan.
According to the Taiwan Ministry of Defense, the military helicopter made an emergency landing after being disconnected from Aviation.
Authorities said the helicopter was travelling from Taipei to the northeast city of Yilan, where Chief of General Staff Gen. Shen Yi-ming was supposed to attend the New Year’s celebrations.

According to Air Force officials, 13 people, including Taiwan’s Chief of General Staff, were aboard the crash helicopter.
Authorities said it is not currently known what caused the accident.
General elections are due in Taiwan this month. It should be noted that China still claims to have its share of Taiwan and hopes that one day it will be integrated into China while Taiwan recognizes itself as an independent country.
