Conditional removal of Ex-overseas commissioner from ECL

Lahore: Supreme Court of Pakistan order the conditional removal from ECL of the Ex- Overseas Pakistanis Commission on Monday.

Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar led a two-member bench and heard the case at Lahore registry.

Director General National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Saleem Shahzade told that Afzal Bhaati has outstanding balance of Rs.13.5 million against the National treasury. Mr. Bhatti is ready to pay five million rupees told the NAB to the Chief Justice.

Chief Justice has already said that Afzal Bhaati is free of all kind of charges if he settles to pay 6.5 million rupees to the state treasury.

CJP has ordered that he should pay within the ten days and his name be deleted from the Exit Control List (ECL).

These orders were passed by Justice Saqib Nisar during court hearings on the appointment of Afzal Bhatti, who was also the board of members in Punjab Institute of Cardiology Lahore.

He has reportedly confessed that he is not the citizen of Pakistan.
