ISLAMABAD: Another burden of inflation was put on the poor people and the cost per unit of electricity was increased by Rs1.78 paisa. The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has issued a notification to increase per unit price of electricity in case of fuel price adjustment.
According to the notification, electricity has been increased by Rs 1.78 paisa per unit for July fuel price adjustment. According to NEPRA, this increase in unit price will be received from the electricity bills of October. Consumers will be charged Rs 24.60 billion in terms of fuel adjustment.
In addition, a notification issued by NEPRA stated that electricity cost has been reduced by 13 paisa per unit in June fuel price adjustment, which will be provided to consumers in October bills. Consumers will get a relief of Rs 1.60 billion in June’s fuel price adjustment.
