Islamabad: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Accountability Mirza Shahzad Akbar rejected the point that Govt hastily put the names of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader on the exit control list (ECL).
While talking to media persons, Shahzad Akbar said that decision of placing the names of 1172 people in the ECL were made with reference to JIT report and the decision was made prior procedural thinking and not in haste.
He further said that the name could be re-written on the directions of National Accountability Bureau. He said that NAB is an autonomous body and said that the anti-corruption watchdog never arrested anyone without court”
Earlier today, A federal cabinet meeting led by PM Khan decided to comply with court’s demand and in the wake of Supreme Court’s ordered removed the names of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah’s names from the exit control list.
On January 7, CJP urged federal govt to remove the names of two PPP leaders from ECL.
