ECP says that most of the law-makers are yet to file their assets.

Islamabad: 483 lawmakers from total 1174 members of assemblies have only submitted the detailed documentation of their assets to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). Election body told media on Tuesday.

In a statement issued by Election Commission of Pakistani recently , they warned that all the members must submit the details of their assets by January 16 or else their memberships will be suspended.

According to the ECP, 688 lawmakers have not yet filed their details of assets to the election commission so far.

The election commission disclosed that 61 Senators from the total 104 members of the upper house have submitted their details earlier and rest of the members must submit their responses by January 16.

The election commission told that in the lower house less than 50% of the members have not submitted their assets reports, only 155 members in the total of 342 submitted their assets.

In Punjab Assembly’s total strength of 371 only 113 have revealed their assets in the election commission of Pakistan.

Out of 168 Sindh Assembly members only 81 have shown their assets to the election commission body and only 43 lawmakers of total 124 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa legislature have submitted their assets’ statements.

From Balochistan Assembly’s total strength of 65, only 30 members have given their details of assets to the election commission, the electoral body said.
