Islamabad: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Accountability Shahzad Akbar has recently stated that fake account case verdict would have bigger effects than Panama on the national politics.
Shahzad Akbar while talking to media said that government will go along the court’s orders in letter and spirit and promised to uphold the rule of law in the country.
He said that apex court ordered the joint investigation team (JIT), and were given a task to investigate fake bank account case, to cooperate with National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
Shahzad Akbar said that the Supreme Court had ordered the NAB to complete its investigations within two months. He told that JIT has included the names of the big politicians of Sindh and more probing is still required to make it evident.
Shahzad Akbar further said that if any name is removed from the exit control list (ECL) it could be rewritten after NAB investigations.
The 25-page verdict was done by Justice Ijazul Ahsan of the SC.
“The NAB investigation has pointed towards heinous crimes. The anti-graft body should take action on recommendations of the joint investigation team (JIT),” the judgement read saying that Judge took action under Article 184 against fake bank accounts.
