Fake officer looting citizens in Karachi arrested

Karachi: The police on Friday arrested a suspect, who was looting citizens by presenting himself as an officer in Karachi

SP Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Azam, a suspect was arrested on the complaints of the residents, involved in fraudulent activities and portrayed himself as an officer of the LEAs and Adviser to CM Sindh.

“Azam grabbed million of rupees by issuing fake job orders to a score of people in Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), Excise, Education and other departments,” the SSP told.

SSP said that suspect was using ‘rent a car’ for his law breaking activities and would play fake-government-official-card, fake cards and other stuff is also recovered from his possession.

A case had been filed against the suspect, probing pertaining to this issue is underway, police told media.

Previously, police arrested four fake policemen who were also involved in looting people visiting city’s sea side.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Clifton Suhai Aziz informed that police was deployed at sea-view check post  and later arrested four persons who posed as policeman.
