Islamabad: Finance Minister Asad Umar will chair a meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) in Islamabad today (Tuesday).
It is reported that Economic Coordination Committee meeting will be held today, chaired by Finance Minister Asad Umar.
Approval for the tax exemptions is likely to be granted in various fields. Amendments in the export policies will also be made. Important decision pertaining to loans taken by Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) will also be looked into.
It should be noted that Wapda has borrowed a total of $125 million loans from a bank. The ECC will also ensure that gas supply to power plants is continuous.
Previously, ECC summoned a report from the Ministry of Industries for turnaround of Pakistan Steel Mills. It also talked about the revival of Pakistan Machine Tool Factory.
In the last meting a report was urged from Revenue Division about details of sales tax and custom duty on import of cotton.
