KARACHI: Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) has decided to discontinue production on every Monday during the month of January due to a decline in demand.
In a notice issued to vendors, the Pak Suzuki company said that “due to a decrease in demand, every Monday during the month of January this month will be observed as non-production days (NPDs).”
Vendors say Pak Suzuki Motor Company has reduced its production schedule for the best-selling 660cc Alto by 25% in January.
They said that despite the decline in sales of Cultus, Swift, Bolan and Wagon R and other vehicles over the past few months, Alto is important for Pak Suzuki and vendors.
It may be recalled that Pak Suzuki Motor Company has increased the price of all its vehicles from January 1, this year from Rs.45000 to Rs. 90000.
The situation is different in other plants of Japan after the production scenario improved.
On the other hand, Honda Atlas Cars Limited (HACL) has increased various vehicle models price from Rs 20,000 to Rs 1 lakh which will be applicable from January 16.
