Five of a family injured in Rawalpindi cylinder explosion

Rawalpindi: At least five members of a family badly wounded when a gas cylinder exploded in their house near Rawalpindi on Tuesday.

According to police officials all the injured people have been shifted to nearest hospital for proper medication.

Meanwhile,the gas supply is still suspended in Rawalpindi for the fifth consecutive day on Tuesday. That has led people to turn to alternate fuel options to cook meals and keep themselves warm in the winters.

Altogether, nine incidents of gas cylinder have been reported so far within a span of eight days, and resulted the loss of two lives.

Previously, on January 10, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry held the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) responsible for the existing gas crisis and said that past government has left the debt of Rs. 1.57 bn.

“Shahid Khaqan turned the profitable sector into the loss making one,” he mentioned and added, Muhammad Zubair should ask from him [Abbasi], “Why the gas is not being supplied”.

Mr Fawad said the dismissed Managing Directors of Suit Southern Gas Company (SSGC) and the Sui Northern Gas Company (SNGC) were also appointed Khaqan Abbasi
