Islamabad: Finance Minister Asad Umer will chair an Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet on Tuesday (today) to discuss the national gas load management plan for coming winter.
Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) is also expected to discuss the progress of Islamic financing facility to lower down circular debt. Three points agenda will also be discussed during the meeting.
ECC recently ordered Power and Finance division to come up with a joint plan to raise 300 billion Islamic financing through mortgaging of Discos assets.
This amount will partially lower down the debt on energy sector which has now spiked to Rs 700 billion.
The issuance of the Government guarantee to National Power Parks and Management companies will also be brought under discussion during ECC meeting.
The gas load shedding plan for ongoing winters will also be finalised during the meeting led by Finance minister.
The government is experiencing a big gap in supply and demand and only through effective planning can this shortage be overcome.
