Gas pipeline explodes, catches fire in Sadiqabad

Sadiqabad: A fire burst out in a gas pipeline near Bhong area of Sadiqabad after an explosion in the early hours of Wednesday.

District police officer informed that no loss of life occurred during this accidental explosion. Official Sui gas company has disconnected the supply to to prevent any further damage.

A heavy contingent of Rangers and police arrived as soon as the explosion occurred in the gas pipeline. Residents in the nearby areas were asked to evacuate the area as precautionary measure on the orders of the police and local authorities. This step was taken to prevent any untoward incident as flames went up really high.

Four firer brigades and water dousers were immediately called to put down the fire.

Couple of years ago, a sui gas employee was killed during a similar gas explosion at Shahdadpur-Hala, Sanghar.

Fire incidents are not rare in the country. Recently, on Jan 5, a massive fire was lit at a timber warehouse in Karachi.
