The International Cricket Council (ICC) is about to debate whether to reduce Test matches days or not.
Some countries are in favour of it and some are against it.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) is about to consider whether all test matches should be made 4 days instead of 5 days.
In 2017, the ICC approved 4 days test matches, and then South Africa played such a test match against Zimbabwe and England played against Ireland.
There are actually two main reasons for this situation.
One of the reason is that the busiest schedules of international cricket these days, which is certainly a huge profit for sponsors and advertising companies, but this schedule is proving to be quite a distraction for the players’ physical and mental health.
Secondly, new formats like ‘T20‘ are becoming increasingly popular not only for fans but also sponsors.
England’s cricket team is supportive of this strategy and demanded ICC be made mandatory this decision from 2023.
The Indian cricket board, which is considered to be rich and influential, has not been able to comment on the matter.
