Islamabad police issues driving license to a transgender person

Ali Laila is the first ever transgender person who is issued a licence by the Islamabad traffic police.

Ali Laila after clearing her driving test successfully got her driving license issued. IG Islamabad Mohammad Amir Zulfiqar Khan met Laila on Monday.

Islamabad traffic police expressed that they will listen to the concerns of transgender community and their problems will be heard on immediate basis.

Police officials said that Transgenders have equal rights as any other normal citizen of Pakistan. Therefore, they should also be respected as any other citizen of Pakistan.

In a social media post police official broke the news saying, “This is a first time a transgender person has been issued a licence in Pakistan.”
