Islamic Ideological Council declared NAB ordinance as non-Islamic

Islamabad: The Islamic Ideological Council declared some provisions of the NAB ordinance non-shariah and non-Islamic.

Speaking at a press conference by the Chairman of the Islamic Ideological Council, Dr Qibla Ayaz, said that the council meeting continued for two days, the council endorsed the resolution of the National Assembly against abusive content on social media.

He demanded that social media be banned from uploading derogatory content.

The Islamic Ideological Council declared some provisions of the NAB ordinance un-Islamic and non-shariah, and the chairman of the council said that the provisions of the ordinance 14D, 15A and 26 are non-Islamic.

The council says that the conviction of the innocent, the promise of a pardon witness and the plea bargaining provisions are un-Islamic and that the handing over and detention of NAB suspects to the media is illegal.

The Islamic Ideological Council has proposed proposals to prevent child sexual abuse and recommends special courts for child sexual abuse.

Responding to the press conference of the Chairman Islamic Ideological Council, Fawad Chaudhry, on the other hand, said that there are serious questions about the performance of the Islamic ideological council.
