Lahore: Chief Minister (CM) of Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar said on Monday, the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) probing the Sahiwal incident will submit its findings Jan 22.
While addressing the media reporters outside Punjab assembly, the CM Punjab said, ” everyone should wait till 5pm tomorrow because the JIT is scheduled to submit its report within 72 hours.”
Buzdar told that he went to Sahiwal as soon as the incident occurred, adding that the JIT was immediately formed in order to ascertain facts that were linked to the incident.
“Further investigations will take place in light of the JIT report findings,” the Punjab chief minister commented.
While concluding Buzdar announced that Rs20 million will be given to the family of deceased persons, adding that no one can be hanged to death proper and before-time probing.
Altogether four people were gunned down including two women on January 19 by Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) officials in a shady encounter in Sahiwal.
The CTD’s version of story differs with what eyewitnesses and the injured children later said.
