Karachi’s Master Plan should be handed over to KMC: mayor

Karachi: On Tuesday, city Mayor Waseem Akhtar urged the Karachi’s Master Plan and Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) to be handed over to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC).  

Waseem Akhtar while addressing to the journalists said that Karachi’s ‘Master Plan’ would help identify amenity plots in the city. He told that previously provincial governments had been issuing fake NOCs and city was turned into concrete Jungle,

He promised to restore the original condition of the city pf lights and said that no one will be allowed to make any illegal encroachment or to construct illegal structure in the city.

Mayor further said that marriage halls constructed on parks and amenity plots would be bulldozed. He said that some political parties were messing and tried to politicize by pressuring during the anti encroachment drive in the metropolis.

Supreme Court registry on January 12, announced that provincial government should launch an anti-encroachment drive operation across the metropolitan city.

Justice Gulzar Ahmed monitored the drive across the city, while presiding over the meeting that said Karachi Master Plan should work under the supervision of the government of Sindh.
