ARY News’ prime time presenter Kashif Abbasi has been disqualified from hosting his TV Show and seeming on any other network for 60 days by the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA).
The PEMRA notification was sent to the newscaster, the network and published on Twitter, saying that the platform in which PTI’s Faisal Vawda brought an army shoe and put it on the bench to mock the PML-N and PPP, was an “effort to humiliate a state institute”.
PEMRA said that Vawda’s activities were “pejorative” and “very frolicsome” and he “did a very wrong act” when starting his disagreement on the platform.
PEMRA added that Kashif was “fairly unethical who actually did not interfere or stopped that bad act,” and demanded that Kashif, “kept smiling/cherishing such occurrence.”
The prohibition comes after a noise on social media and television after Faisal Vawda brought the boot to the program.
