KARACHI: The third phase of the anti-encroachment in Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) begins in the Karachi from Monday (today). The targeted area will city’s Arambagh furniture market.
KMC officials told media that third round of the encroachments will begin from Monday (Today) November 19.
The shops in the furniture market which are reported illegal for many years will be demolished by the KMC officials.
Sources tell that KMC has asked for rangers help during this anti-encroachment operation
Sources informed that the KMC had alerted Rangers to assist the anti-encroachment team in case of any resistance or an untoward situation.
The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) submitted a report to commissioner of Karachi on November 17. The report precisely discussed the anti-encroachment drive that was directed by Supreme court in the metropolitan city.
As many as 2500 shops were brought down at Empress Market and its adjoining road Daupota Road during encroachment drive. Many illegal shops were bulldozed in the second phase of the drive at Sohrab Goth’s area and Sarmad Shaheed Road.
