KMC’s anti-encroachment body issues warning against police picket

Karachi: The Anti-Encroachment Department of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC)  issued a warning letter to Mithadar police station to leave check post made at II Chundrigar Road in Saddar area.

The anti-encroachment body has declared the check post illegal and gave three days time in a letter to the station house officer (SHO) of the police station.

The senior director KMC Anti-Encroachment Department told that police check post  falls in the illegal land near Mithdar police station and it was constructed against the Sindh Public Property Act 2010.

Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar said that notices have been given to the other traffic traffic police checkpoints  that are constructed at Ferer Hall, Zainab Market and the PIDC.

“The check-posts constructed by occupying the government land are illegal,” the notice read.

Mayor of Karachi Waseem Akhtar said that any kind of illegal construction that is made on the land owned in Karachi, is prohibited according to the Supreme Court (SC) orders.
