Lahore unrest: 10 Rangers platoons and two companies deployed in Lahore


Rangers were summoned for an indefinite period of time in the city of Lahore following the attack of lawyers at the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC).

The Federal Ministry of Interior said in a letter to DG Rangers Punjab that 10 platoons of Rangers and two companies should be sent to protect the city’s critical location.

According to the Interior Ministry, a platoon of Rangers will be posted in the Governor’s House, Punjab Assembly, GPO Chowk, Civil Secretariat, Aiwan-e-ADL, Supreme Court Registry, High Court, IG Office and PIC while two companies will be placed in the reserve.

It may be recalled that in the attack on the Punjab Institute of Cardiology by lawyers, 3 patients, including a woman, died due to lack of timely treatment.
