Islamabad: State Minister of Interior Shehryar Afridi revealed that a large number of students in Islamabad are taking ice and heroin.
“Score of students belonging to big schools of Islamabad use crystal meth, those involved in the business will be given exemplary punishment,” stated the minister while addressing a press conference in Federal capital Islamabad
It is reported that almost 75% female students and 45% of the male students of renowned, private schools and universities are addicted to powder and ice. This situation is very disappointing and needs immediate address, says the minister.
The minister also said officials within the Anti-narcotics Force (ANF) and law enforcement found to be involved in the drug selling and distribution will not be spared.
Crystal methamphetamine is commonly known as ice, is an addictive drug and has a physical form of transparent crystal similar to ice. It different sizes and shapes are used in varying way i.e smoking, inhaling and sniffing.
It should be noted that, Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), yesterday just caught a drug supplier in the Sitara market Islamabad.
“Muhammad Ilyas was supplier of contraband items in Islamabad’s educational institutes, adding that the team also confiscated contraband items worth Rs 15 million,” officials of ANF informed media.
