NAB has registered a new case against Nawaz Sharif and a team will arrest him from jail today for which NAB Lahore has received warrants. PML-N leader Mian Nawaz Sharif will be presented in the accountability court today in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case for which the NAB team has left the former prime minister from jail.
Strict security arrangements have been made on the sides of the court, while a large number of PML-N leaders and party workers are reaching the court. NAB Lahore may arrest Nawaz Sharif, in this case today. Chairman NAB Justice Javed Iqbal approved arrest of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Chaudhry Sugar Mills case, after which NAB Lahore received the arrest warrant of Mian Nawaz Sharif. NAB Lahore sources said that Nawaz Sharif is the main suspect in Chaudhry Sugar Mills whom NAB officials are investigating.
Nawaz Sharif did not cooperate with the Joint Investigation Team in Lahore during the interrogation of Nawaz Sharif, which is why the arrest is necessary. For Nawaz Sharif, the NAB Day Care Center will be given the status of a sub-jail while additional personnel will be posted for security. Today NAB authorities will request 15 days physical remand after Nawaz Sharif’s arrest, Sharif family is accused of money laundering through Chaudhry Sugar Mills.
On the other hand, the Lahore Accountability Court Lahore allowed Nawaz Sharif to be interrogated in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case. NAB’s Prosecutor Hafiz Asad Awan filed a petition, stating that Nawaz Sharif is currently imprisoned in Kot Lakhpat Jail; NAB has to investigate Mian Nawaz Sharif in Chaudhry Sugar Mills case. Because of this, Mian Nawaz Sharif could not appear for investigation, so the court should allow him to be interrogated in jail.
