National Assembly meeting today, likely to pass the Army Act Bill

ISLAMABAD: A meeting of the National Assembly will be held today in which the bills related to the extension of the tenure of the heads of the three armed forces are likely to be approved.

A 17-point agenda of the National Assembly meeting has been issued which includes amendments to the Army Act, Pakistan Air Force Act, and the Pakistan Naval Ordinance.

The Chairman of the Standing Committee on Defense will submit a report to the Standing Committee on the amended bills, which were unanimously approved by the three bills last day.

On November 28, the Supreme Court extended a conditional extension of 6 months to General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Parliament was ordered to pass legislation related to the extension of the term of army chief
