Murree: A recent spell of snowfall has brought hardships to locals as well as tourists in Nathia Gali and adjoining areas, Pakistan Army sent its team to rescue stranded tourists in the valley.
Pakistan Military’s spokesperson, Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor, informed that a joint team of Pak Army and Pakistan Air Force was sent in support of civil administration to rescue stranded tourists in Nathia Gali, a scenic tourists’ destination in lower Himalayas.
On media reports of stranded tourists at Toheed Abad near Nathia Gali a rescue team each of Army and PAF sent in support of civil administration. Rescue teams carrying medicines and food items. Road blocked due to heavy snowfall and broken down vehicles. Approach being cleared.

Director General, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) took to Twitter and told that Pakistan Army and PAF, carrying medicines and food items for stranded tourists, has been dispatched to support the local administration in the area to carry out rescue operation.
Tauheedabad area near Nathiagali, tourists were trapped in heavy snow that literally covered the roads. Moreover; the local residents also suffered and their routine life disturbed due to heavy snowfall.
The heavy snowfall in the areas of Murree, Nathiagali, Abbottabad, Ayubia and other mountainous areas of the country have made the living difficult there and people are depriving of the basic provisions.
Tourists who were staying there to enjoy freezing winter were stranded due to blockage.
