Pak-Bangla T20: Lahore police demanded helicopter from the government


Lahore police have sought a helicopter from the provincial government to check security for a T20 series between Pakistan and Bangladesh at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.

Sources say that Lahore police have also requested the government of 8 Rangers companies. Police have also asked the IG Office for 4 bombproof vehicles.

On the other hand, a Traffic Advisory Plan has also been issued for public convenience and efficient flow of traffic. T20 matches will be played at Gaddafi Stadium on January 24, 25 and 27.

According to the CTO Captain (R) Liaquat Ali Malik, 5 SPs, 16 DSP’s, 90 inspectors, 135 Patrol officers, and more than 1600 wardens will be deployed. 20 forklifts, 5 breakdowns will also be deployed to eliminate wrong parking.

CTO said that 9 stands have been allocated for parking of spectator vehicles, Alternative routes will have a large deployment of wardens, City Traffic Police will traditionally welcome fans to cricket.

He said that fans would be welcomed by distributing candies and flowers among children. Traffic on Mall Road, Jail Road, Canal Road, MM Alam Road will continue as usual. Citizens will be kept informed of the changing traffic conditions through the Route app and Route FM 88.6.

Citizens can call on 15 Helpline for further guidance and assistance. Kalma Chowk underpass, Center Point to Firdous Market Road will also be open for all types of traffic. Roads will be closed for a few moments during the team movement, CTO added.
