Pakistan becomes British Open Junior Squash champion after 8 years

Muhammad Hamza Khan of Pakistan won the under-15 title at the British Open Junior Squash Championship and became the champion.

Hamza Khan defeated England’s Youssef Sheikh in the U-15 final at the British Open Junior Squash Championship in Birmingham.

This is Pakistan’s first title in 8 years at the British Junior Open Squash Championship.

In the semi-final match played on Sunday, Mohammad Hamza made it to the final after defeating Egypt’s Yasin Shoheda in just 19 minutes.

His winning scores were 5-11, 8-11 and 7-11.

Hamza also won the title by defeating England‘s Youssef Sheikh 4-11, 3-11 and 7-11 in the under-15 final, presenting the best game in the finals on Monday.

Hamza Khan, a Pakistani U-15 player from Peshawar, won the first game against British rival and Pakistan won the British Open for the first time since 2012.

Speaking after the success, Hamza Khan said he was happy to receive this award, but next year he will compete in U-17 and try to win the title for Pakistan again.
